Challenge
The Clair Creek corridor in Waterloo, Ontario, experienced significant erosion and slope failures along the rear yards of properties on Keats Walk and Keats Way Place. Over time, sections of the creek’s banks had eroded entirely, posing a growing threat to residential properties and nearby infrastructure. The instability not only risked the loss of private land but also contributed to environmental degradation through sedimentation and disrupted natural flow patterns. The project demanded an immediate, effective solution that could stabilize the failing slopes, protect nearby homes, and restore ecological balance, all within the constraints of a residential setting.
The Titan Solution
Titan played a key role in the project from the initial planning stages through to implementation and ongoing maintenance. As a trusted engineering partner, Titan was responsible for designing a custom solution using the Titan Earth Slope® – Living system, a green infrastructure approach that combined geosynthetic stabilization with natural vegetation. Titan supplied all necessary materials, including geogrids and erosion control components, ensuring compatibility with site-specific conditions. During installation, Titan provided field support and technical guidance to ensure the proper construction of the slope system.v

Like many environmentally sensitive infrastructure projects, the Clair Creek stabilization effort presented both logistical and environmental challenges.
