Challenge

A new underground pumping station overflow tank in Southern Ontario was lined with concrete protection liner to safeguard against sewage gas emissions and extend the structure’s service life.

Titan Solution

IMG_3291
A new pumping station overflow tank was being constructed in Southern Ontario. This underground overflow tank is designed to store enough sewage to last 48 hours in the event the sewer pumps stop working. The overflow tank needed to be lined with concrete protection liner for environmental protection reasons and to protect from sewage gas emissions. This also protects the concrete from rapid deterioration, extending the service life of the overflow tank.

Concrete Protection Liner (CPL) is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE),  provides superior protection compared to other technologies.

Achievement

Titan was selected for this project based on our extensive experience and expertise with tunnel lining projects and our local presence.

We supplied 3mm Concrete Protective Liner for a 50-meter-long tank. The project involved welding joints for pipe sections 6 meters in length and was completed in 5 days.
