Produced Water Storage Ponds - Multi - Layer Lining System

A client in Peace, River BC, required two produced water storage ponds, which were constructed on a 23.12ha lease. Each pond has an approximate storage capacity of 76,000m³ for a total operating capacity of 152,00m³. Material had to be delivered within a tight time frame, and installation had to be completed quickly.

Titan Solution

Both North and South ponds were built with six layers of different geosynthetic materials, with an area of approximately 199,778ft² (18560 m²) each. The design included a geocomposite layer directly on the prepared subgrade and, two layers of geonet sandwiched between three layers of LLDPE liner above the geocomposite. An acoustic test was conducted to ensure that there were no leaks and that the seals were completely secure.

Titan collaborated with the client to ensure project efficiency and avoid delays to the next phase of the project.

 LLDPE geomembrane is a durable, flexible liner made from virgin polyethylene resins, designed for long-term performance with excellent UV and low-temperature resistance.

Achievement

Despite facing a short turnaround time for material delivery, Titan was able to deliver resources and cater to the client's needs. As a result, we were able to complete two ponds quickly and efficiently. Throughout the project, we delivered high-quality work without any compromise, meeting all the client's expectations.
