The Forest Lakes Country Club required a durable liner system for an irrigation pond that also functions as a water hazard on Atlantic Canada’s first Nicklaus Design golf course, presenting unique aesthetic and functional challenges.

Challenge
Install a liner for an irrigation pond which doubles as a water hazard at the Forest Lakes Country Club, located in Ardoise, Nova Scotia, just 35 minutes from Halifax.This is the first Nicklaus Design golf course in Atlantic Canada and among the hundreds of golf courses around the world built by renowned golfer, Jack Nicklaus. The course is thoughtfully planned to enhance the stunning environment, provide some challenging play, and above all ensure enjoyment for players of all skill levels.
Titan Solution
Here our experienced crew installed 27,592 square meters of 40 mil smooth HDPE geomembrane liner over 12oz geotextile on the main irrigation pond which doubles as a water hazard, so the HDPE liner was not to be exposed at water level.
Geomembranes, are synthetic, impermeable liners used with soil or rock to prevent fluid migration in engineered structures.
Achievement
Titan had the pleasure of previously working for the Nicklaus Design Team on a golf course pond lining project in the Caribbean. We were selected to work on this high-profile Atlantic Canada project because of the client’s positive experience working with us in the past as well as our attention to detail and quality workmanship. We completed the work ahead of schedule making the owner very happy.
