Challenge
Lewis County maintenance crews needed to repair an eroded steel corrugated culvert located within an environmentally sensitive fish habitat. The site required a solution that minimized ecological disruption while providing long-term structural integrity.
The Titan Solution
In November 2014, Titan supplied CC5™ batched rolls of Concrete Canvas® (GCCM), branded locally as Concrete Cloth by Nuna Innovation Inc. The material was installed in transverse layers to reline the 5 ft high, 7 ft wide culvert. A total of 31 m² of CC was used, offering a quick, low-impact installation method ideal for sensitive environments.
Concrete Canvas® (CC) is a Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mat (GCCM), a factory-produced material combining cement within geosynthetic layers that hardens when hydrated for erosion control and weed suppression.
Achievement
The project successfully restored the culvert with minimal disturbance to the surrounding habitat. The use of Concrete Canvas® provided a durable, erosion-resistant lining that met environmental requirements and ensured long-term performance.
