Challenge
In December 2016, St Quentin Zoo in France needed a reliable lining solution for newly excavated bird and mammal ponds that could ensure impermeable water containment while withstanding long-term damage from animal activity and environmental wear.
The Titan Solution
Titan supplied CC Hydro™ (CCH), which was selected over a resin alternative due to its faster installation and durability. The ponds were excavated and prepared with anchor trenches and smooth surfaces before laying the CCH material, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
Concrete Canvas® (CC) is a Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mat (GCCM), a factory-produced material combining cement within geosynthetic layers that hardens when hydrated for erosion control and weed suppression.
Achievement
CCH was successfully installed by Eiffage TP Route for St Quentin Council, delivering a robust, impermeable lining that met all durability and containment requirements while minimizing installation time and disruption.
