Challenge
Damaged curbs in Canada required a fast, durable, and weather-resistant repair method, prompting a trial to assess the suitability of Concrete Canvas (CC8™) for this purpose.
The Titan Solution
Concrete Canvas® GCCM (CC8™), a flexible concrete-impregnated fabric, was installed by Miller Capilano Highway Services by wrapping it around the damaged curb areas, anchoring it to the existing pavement, and hydrating it to form a hardened, waterproof layer.
Concrete Canvas® (CC) is a Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mat (GCCM), a factory-produced material combining cement within geosynthetic layers that hardens when hydrated for erosion control and weed suppression.
Achievement
The repair was completed in under two hours, proving CC8™ to be an efficient and effective solution, leading to consideration of its use at additional curb sites.
