Challenge
Supply and install of 85,000 square meter of bituminous geomembrane (BGM) during the winter months for the Tervita Corporation at the Silverberry Landfill.
Titan Solution
Titan provided and installed bituminous geomembrane manufactured (BGM) for the landfill closure cap. The cap needed to be installed and completed during the winter months with the likeliness that some or most of it would remain uncovered and exposed for up to 10 years. Bituminous geomembrane (BGM) was the material of choice for this particular project because it is ideal for winter installations involving temperatures under or around -20°C. Overall, the project went well and was completed in 37 days.
Bituminous geomembrane, known as BGM liner, is a specialty geomembrane with composite layers that make it stronger, more watertight, and more durable than resin-based geomembranes.
