Challenge:
The project faced significant logistical and environmental challenges, including restricted access to the privately owned Shaybah Wildlife Sanctuary and harsh desert conditions like extreme heat and frequent sandstorms, which complicated installation efforts.
Achievement:
Despite the difficult conditions, 400m² of CCH8™ were successfully installed over three days by a small team, improving pond safety and durability for wildlife while satisfying the client with the speed and effectiveness of the solution.

Challenge
The Shaybah Wildlife Sanctuary project faced multiple difficulties, including harsh desert conditions with extreme heat and frequent sandstorms, limited access due to the site's private ownership by Saudi Aramco, and the inadequacy of existing PVC pond liners, which were slippery, hard to clean, and easily damaged by animal hooves—posing safety risks to wildlife.
The Titan Solution
To address these issues, FOQSCO installed 400m² of Concrete Canvas Hydro™ (CCH8™) over three days, using bulk rolls cut to size and transported manually. The material was laid longitudinally, joined with hot air blowers and rollers, and anchored in trenches before hydration. This solution offered a durable, non-slip, and easy-to-clean lining that could withstand animal traffic and environmental stress.
Concrete Canvas® (CC) is a Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mat (GCCM), a factory-produced material combining cement within geosynthetic layers that hardens when hydrated for erosion control and weed suppression.
Achievement
Despite challenging conditions, the installation was completed efficiently by a six-person team in just three 8-hour days. The client was highly satisfied with the speed, ease, and effectiveness of the solution, which significantly improved pond safety and durability for the sanctuary’s wildlife.
