Challenge
A new lumber manufacturing facility in Vauxhall, Alberta, needed base reinforcement for their new site.
Titan Solution
After site-specific consultation with the client, Titan completed a base reinforcement
pre-design for the new lumber manufacturing facility. The pre-design included a Swamp Grid® 20 geogrid solution, which would fortify the site soil conditions and ensure the long-term performance of the subgrade. Swamp Grid® (a combination of our Titan Earth Grid heat-bonded to a long-fiber PET nonwoven geotextile) improves the overall structural life of a subgrade and will reduce any future maintenance costs for the client.
Swamp Grid® is an advanced composite geogrid product consisting of our Titan Earth Grid® heat-bonded to a long-fiber PET nonwoven geotextile.
Achievement
In addition to providing a pre-design for this project, Titan supplied 122 rolls of Swamp Grid® material, totalling over 390,000 SF (36,232 m2) (the equivalent of almost 7 NFL football fields!). Dusty Lumber Construction Ltd. completed the installation of the geogrids. Our competitive pricing, and the ability to deliver the supply within the client’s desired time frame window, contributed to this project’s success.
